Prime (UK Band) are a Nottingham rock group that ended their 7 year run of gigs and music just over a year ago with their final official single, "Sorry".
In February they found a leftover recording from their final session, a cover of the Kinks classic "You Really Got Me' written by Ray Davies.
We caught up with Drummer Josh to chat all things music,
Hi Josh, it's nice to meet you!
What was the last song you listened to?
Skillet Awake - 'Hero'
Do you listen to your own songs when you’re driving or working out?
Yes I do, I like to listen to it while at the gym. I've boxed for a long time too, so good music gets me going. If you're proud of your previous work then use it to drive you in other areas, and in my case it's my exercise these days.
You’re in a club or venue and one of your tracks comes on what do you do?
Again I feel proud. If your track is heard in a venue and people enjoy it, thats a great feeling.
What music most comes to mind when you think of growing up?
American pop rock like Blink 182 which is one of my favourite bands of all time
What are you listening to at the moment that we should check out?
Machine Gun Kelly, it's the exact music i am into
What one song instantly makes you smile when you hear it?
Blink 182 'All the Small Things'. My favourite track.
What is your guilty pleasure?
I love jazz music. Not that it's really a guilty pleasure at all. While I was studying drums we did all of our grades and I chose jazz as my improvisation piece. Just how the genre groves and flows, it's just awesome.
What album do you always listen to all the way through?
'Enemy of the State' by Blink 182. I listen to more but this one takes me back to when I very first picked up the drum sticks.
What track would you like to cover?
I couldn't pick just one, there are so many! (Laughs)
Thanks for chatting to us Josh!!
