A Moments Notice is an American metalcore band from Sacramento California, formed in October 2021.. They have released 2 singles and an EP All recorded with Nick Miller of A Skylit Drive.
We caught up with Greg from the band for a chat.
Introduce yourself and tell us what you do in the band?
My name is Greg Molina, i am the vocalist of the band
Tell us a little about your band, how you got together and the story behind the name if there is one.
In 2022 i started the band as a solo project but after 2 singles being put out members started to appear. We started working on music and eventually put out a E.P. then more music.
Tell us a bit about your latest single, what’s the story behind the song?
Our latest single End The Cycle was a new sound that our former drummer wanted to go for. The band was trying something new and it is about ending the cycle of doubt in oneself.
What is your writing process like? Do you start with lyrics and then come up with a melody or is it the other way round?
My writing process is honestly not as complicated as most would think. I usually just write lyrics in the form of poems at first or short installments of my thoughts about a topic or what I'm feeling. The writing just comes to me and when I'm in the studio I find the right way to add it into the song. There is a very interesting way I operate when writing lyrics.
What bands were you listening to when you were writing this release? Do you think it had an effect on the end sound?
To be honest I listen to alot of pop and r&b music. Most of my writing just comes from the soul and it's a sound I'm so familiar with that style of music it doesn't really affect the writing for me at all.
.
What can you tell us about the album that the song has come from?
Our latest single is just a single, we are not sure if it will be added to the new album or if right now we are going to be putting out an album. We might just put out singles for a long time. We haven't fully decided on what we are going to do.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I'm actually a very calm and relaxed person and not very high energy. I joke around a lot but the minute I am getting ready for the stage I flip a switch and act accordingly.
